Shri Nani Ardeshir Palklhivala was born on 16-01-1920 in a middle class Pars! Family in Bombay with no connections or influence in the world of law or commerce. In childhood, he suffered from embarrassing stammer. But he overcame it to become the most fluent Advocate of his times and an enthralling public speaker. He also suffered from writer’s cramps. The beginnings of his life were hardly propitious for an illustrious public life. Nani Palkhivala an M.A., LL.B., of the University of Bombay and Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India has been a Professor of Law at the Government Law College, Bombay for several years, and was appointed Professor of Law at the Calcutta University. He was a Member of the First and Second Law Commissions. He was elected in 1975 as an Honorary Member of the Academy of Political Science, New York, in recognition of his “outstanding public service and distinguished contributions to the advancement of Political Science”. ....
